Leap!

Disappear. Leave everyone she loves, and slip into anonymity? Or, wait for him to get Out and come after her again, this time intent on finishing the job? To survive means to Leap!

This post is in response to this weekend's Trifextra Challenge:
Forty-three years ago today, Neil Armstrong became the first person to ever walk on the moon.  In celebration of Moon Day we want you to write 33 words about someone who took a giant leap.  It can mean whatever you'd like, just make sure you write exactly 33 words.

  1. Escaping the cycle of abuse is so hard. I have never done it, but my mother has. From my sister. I admire my mother more than I can possibly say. Not just for that, but it certainly ranks up there.

    1. Note- I worded that poorly -- I've never HAD to escape it. I'm not in any abusive relationships. I worded that poorly.

    1. Jester, thank you for your thoughtful comment, and your replies. I appreciated all of them. Your mom sounds like one brave lady!

  3. Amy, this was a great post. Lots of meaning in only 33 words. And I think I enjoyed JQ's conversation with herself just as much. :)

  4. Breaking free from an abuser's control is a big leap. Nearly every week, I hear stories about women who weren't successful in leaving. Sad. It's just sad.

  5. A courageous leap it is indeed.

  7. I've known many abused women. The choice is painful but so realistically portrayed here, Amy. To leap is to leave a lot behind... but it is also a leap of faith that, no matter where she goes, she will learn to make good friends who will watch her back.

A solid write! Peace, Another Amy (Barlow Liberatore)
